About PawPads & Whiskers!
I would like to welcome you to PawPads and Whiskers! You have found a place where you and all of your pets are welcome at any time. You don’t even have to call first. And as far as getting pet hair on the furniture? This is a place that just doesn’t worry about that. The water runs clear and the best foods for your pets are ready, as is a cup of coffee for you as we sit and talk about what may be the biggest passion in our lives: Our pets.
I remember my first dog. She was a purebred poodle that was classified as a toy but was closer to a miniature in size. She was brown and had brown eyes and even a brown nose. She was lovely. Her name was Suzette and I had her from the time I was seven until I was 21. She saw me through a lot of great childhood years, and lot of teenage angst and was even there for the birth of my first baby.
Somewhere back in that time, early high school if I recall correctly, I got my first job. Where was it? A pet store. I was introduced to more kinds of pets that I ever knew existed. Never had I been in an environment that was so comfortable for me; I learned about all kinds of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, exotic rats, hamsters, gerbils, parrots, canaries, budgies, snakes, lizards, and even a monkey. With the exception of a monkey, I have had, and bred, all of the animals on that list. And I have loved all of them dearly.
Over the coming months and hopefully years, I will tell you about many of my friends who are waiting on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge; and of course you will meet my current companions. I can’t go too long without talking about my Pembroke Welsh Corgis and my cats. And like all proud owners, I’ll have photos!
I hope to hear your stories too. Send them to me and I’ll publish all I can on the blog. Do you have a story that shows the value of pet rescue? Did you find a puppy somewhere that had been abandoned, only to work his way into your heart? Or perhaps you are one who researches for months and then seeks out the best purebred breeder possible to get just exactly the cat or dog you want; your story would be great too.
I want to hear about your guinea pigs, hamsters, canaries, parrots, frogs, aquariums as well as your dogs and cats. And please send photos. Pet people love to look at pictures.
Again welcome to the blog and please stop by often. I look forward to bringing you the best information on the Internet and hearing from you.
Oh, and in the meantime, please meet Precious. She is one of my cats. Precious knows that she is very much as her name indicates, and although she is very tiny (weighing about five pounds) she manages to run herd on my other cats and my two Corgis. She certainly understands her authority and how to wield it!

These are two kitties that were saved, brought to a cat shelter, and adopted out to fine homes!
